The illness that would not leave

I have been sick for a month. yes a month, which has meant that training has been scaled back and almost nonexistent, and no attention to eating....So I am fat and out of shape. 10 pounds gained since Timberman!

So going public with my goals - 10-16 pounds by the season start (FL 70.3 May 16th). I am feeling well enough to try a walk/jog/run - will keep it short and just try to get back in the groove.... I definitely have been doing the one step forward 2 steps back thing....And the antibiotics are knocking me out....

Reasonable breakfast done - off to try moving shortly....

Season Peak

I totally have gotten away from this blogging thing - I think partly because it takes energy that I don't seem to have! I do log my workouts - on BT and Training Peaks - that seems like enough most of the time!

This summer thus far since St. Anthony's - did Mooseman International, Patriot Half Iron and now the rest of the season has arrived. This sunday is Gloucester Sprint, August 23 Timberman 70.3, August 30 Cranberry Olympic.

Final part of the season is Duxbury sprint (aka world championship for Team Psycho) and Miami Man international distance.

Got disabled on ST for linking to the TF blog, which Dan claims I know why - I figured the post would get pulled, but banning?

Funniest part was some dude in the TF comments calling me fat - that is truly funny - so glad I do not have an eating disorder nor body dysmorphic disorder. Sad that so many who get into endurance sports do.

St. Anthony's

Lazyish morning - had breakfast with Michelle and then drove down to venue - about 15 minutes away. Have not yet figured out parking for the race but will either go look later or tomorrow.

Met up with David and his wife and we biked, then I did a brick run. We registered, got our race packets - no lines! and then went down to swim finish to do our swim seeing what the sighting for the finish will be like.

My place in transition puts me a LONG way from bike out, so it will be a long run in cleats....I need to learn to do a flying mount!

Long time no blog

So I was asked at a talk I gave in Arizona if I blog....and technically the answer is yes though I admitted to being remiss recently....have been twittering, but not blogging....

I am attempting to correct that as I head into my second season as a triathlete....this year doing Olympic distance and Half Iron distance. And NO I do NOT aspire to do an ironman. I do not like running and the idea of running a marathon is appalling to me - especially after swimming and biking!

Recovery supplements working well: lycored (lycomato) 250 mg, Injuv (hyalrunoic acid) 140-280 mg, bioastin (astaxanthin) 4mg, meganatural BP (grape seed extract) 300 mg, suntheanine (l-theanine) 200 mg. playing with Perfusia (l-arginine) 700-1050 mg 1-2x daily to see if I think my aerobic capacity improves....I need to be more consistent - then again I should get better about iron supplements too....

first race is this weekend - St. Anthony's.....doing it as an early season training race to see where I am at....
